Evelyn Diaz passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at age 70 in Chicago, Illinois. She was born on September 8, 1953 in Manati Puerto Rico to Blanca and Angel Manuel Diaz. Evelyn is survived by her children Wanda Ivette (the manager in the family & confidant), Julissa (the pea to her pod especially in personalities) and Bianca Marie (her spoiled baby); her son-in-law Danny, who spoiled her with anything she desired; 2 grandsons Andrew and Adrian (the light of her eyes that did no wrong); 5 sibling Merida, Carmen Lydia, Sandra, Eddie and Tato. She expressed pride in all her beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews (which are too many to name). She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Manuel and Mon.
During the last 2 years she faced her biggest health battles, beating cancer, the impairment of her vision and the ups and downs of her COPD. During all of her trials and tribulations she did not once complain about her health, she trusted the Lord with all her heart.
She made sure we found a way to watch Sunday services at home or when hospitalize via Facebook Live. As soon as she felt a little better, she made sure that Wanda or her grandsons would take her to serve the Lord, followed by a trip to Wendy’s for her Biggie bag.
Evelyn departed her earthly body and began her transition as an ancestor. We are all grateful to have been a part of her beautiful life and praise God for loaning her to us. Evelyn’s memory will last forever in the hearts of her daughters, family and friends.
